thanks for the help. Here is the other link that gives me the "page cannot be found" error.

ftp://ia311212.us.archive.org/St.AnnsReel

This happens quite a lot with other files as well.

this link has an important part missing - your login e-mail after "ftp://"; (you should replace "@" symbol with "AT" and put "@" after your e-mail).

Thanks for the help again. It seems that everything that you are saying should happen, and it gives me the correct infomation when I attempt to replace the files, but comes up as "page cannot be found. Te problem might be due to my ancient machine (or my techno ignorance) I shall keep at it. At any rate, I have opted to replace the files and information since I have re-mixed the original files for clarity and improved sound quality. This is not a difficult task, as they are small files and I have learned more about my audio recording program so I will make better recordings. I have also learned that I should make absolutly sure as to the final quality of the file that I am going to archive. There will be double files for any recordings prior to December 1st, 2008, but the new improved files are clearly marked in the description as to which are the re-mixes and a notice has been issued to the effect. Now it would seem that I should like to delete the inferior files somehow, as I have also placed duplicates by my error. Do you know how I could go about this procedure?
Thanks for any help.

typically you post a delete request here in the forums, with the list of items you want to get rid of. if you want to keep only one last item with all your recordings together, i guess you can skip the whole list and just ask for deletion of everything except that item.
